A mere four years ago, our Mainstay Dogpatch location was a loading dock and holding area for garbage and compost. Because we wanted to bring the Dogpatch area a grocery store, Mainstay was born.
A mainstay is a source of support for its community. At Mainstay Markets, we strive to live up to our name. Our mission is to provide our customers with exceptional quality, service and value, while supporting local growers, vendors and our dedicated employees. We strive to be more than a market; we are here to be a trusted part of the community—delivering fresh products, fair prices, and a commitment to those whom we serve. PET POLICY
For the health and safety of everyone, and the cleanliness of our store and products, we only allow service animals inside the Market.
However, we follow the City of San Francisco’s policies regarding service animals. This policy is found at sfgov.org: Service and Support Animals | Mayor's Office on Disability.
The policy provides as follows:
-Service animals ONLY as defined under federal law are allowed in any public and private establishment.
-All service AND support animals are welcomed at any building, program, or agency of the City and County of San Francisco and its contractors.
-When it comes to private businesses or establishments that sell or prepare food, the state law is unclear; you may be denied access if you have a support animal.
